Darrell is an L&D professional and has been for 30 years, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). He ran his own L&D Consultancy for 7 years – clients included G4S, Sellafield Nuclear Power, Lincolnshire Police, National Crime Agency, Ministry of Justice, UK Border Force, several Housing Associations and clients in the Manufacturing, ICT and Pharmaceutical industries.

Darrell was Head of L&D in large Police Force, Group L&D Manager at Accord Housing Association, Head of L&D at St Basils (a Charity for young homeless people in Birmingham), Head of L&D at Walsall Housing Group. He has also worked in the private sector as Senior Tutor and Quality Manager for an organisation delivering CIPD qualifications (certificate to Graduate level).

Darrell began his L&D career in Civil Service with Department for Employment before joining Birmingham City Council as a trainer delivering a range of courses on diverse topics but mainly Behavioural and Skills based subjects.

He Holds a Cert. in Training and Development, Post Grad Dip. in Training Management, Dip. in Stress Management, BPS Levels A & B, Licensed (by MHFA England) Instructor in Mental Health First Aid. He was also a Former Magistrate for 6 years and Chair of Governors in two schools (for 17 years).
